Set photos from Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 have leaked, and they confirm what Marvel fans have been begging for: the Defenders are getting back together.
Entertainment Weekly obtained images showing Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Finn Jones (Iron Fist), and Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) all in costume alongside Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock. It's happening. The street-level heroes are reuniting under the Marvel Studios banner.
This is fan service done right—which is refreshing, given Marvel's recent track record of fan service done very wrong.
The original Netflix Marvel shows hold a special place in the MCU's history. They were darker, grittier, and more character-driven than anything Marvel Studios was producing at the time. Daredevil especially became appointment television, with Cox delivering a career-defining performance and Vincent D'Onofrio creating one of Marvel's greatest villains in Wilson Fisk.
When Netflix canceled all the Marvel shows in 2018-2019, it felt like wasted potential. These characters deserved proper conclusions. These actors deserved bigger stages.
Now they're getting both. Daredevil: Born Again has been Marvel Studios' most confident Disney+ project, bringing back not just Cox and D'Onofrio but the tone and stakes that made the original series work. Season 3 expanding to include the full Defenders roster feels like vindication.
Of course, this also raises questions. Finn Jones' was the weakest of the shows—not because of , who never got a fair shake, but because the writing never figured out what it wanted to be. Can Marvel Studios salvage that character? They salvaged 's after that weird cameo in , so anything's possible.
