Los Angeles Angels owner Arte Moreno made shocking comments suggesting that Angels fans don't want the team to win, sparking outrage from a fanbase that has endured years of disappointment despite having generational talents like Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani.

This is everything wrong with modern sports ownership. Angels fans have watched two of the greatest players ever suit up in their uniforms and got zero playoff success to show for it. To suggest they don't care about winning is insulting and tone-deaf.

Think about it - Trout, a three-time MVP and arguably the best player of his generation, has played one playoff series his entire career. Ohtani, a once-in-a-century talent, left for the Dodgers to chase a ring. The problem isn't the fans - it's ownership.

Angels fans show up, they support their team, and they've been patient through rebuild after rebuild that never materializes into anything. And this is what they get from the guy cutting the checks? Blame the fans?

Owners who don't invest in winning and then point fingers at the fanbase are the worst. Fans deserve better. They deserve an organization that matches their passion with competent management and a willingness to do what it takes to compete.

That's what sports is all about, folks - fans who care deeply, and ownership that should care just as much.
